A registered agent is the person that is responsible to represent the company when there is a legal action against the company or even where there is paperwork that needs to be done such as the update of the directors list, the articles of association update, the charter update etc. Don’t confuse the registered agent with the legal adviser. The registered agent is simply a designated person to represent the company.
