Double entry system includes two entries for each for each transaction you have you. A debit and an equivalent credit. For example if you make a cash sale of $1,000 you should:
Dr Cash $1,000
Cr Credit Sales $1,000
If you pay for electricity you will have :
Dr Electricity Expense $1,000
Cr Cash $1,000
