Opportunity cost is essentially the option that you can’t choose because you chose an alternative. For example, if you have $10 and you can buy either a burger or an ice-cream. If you buy the burger, your opportunity cost is the ice-cream. Opportunity cost basically suggests that most of the times, projects and actions are mutually exclusive. You are not able to pick more than one option and what you are missing is the opportunity cost.
