Would you recognize the debentures under the non current liabilities or under the current liabilities? When can a debenture be under the current liabilities?
They are usually a non current liability but they can also be a current liability. It depends on their maturity. If they mature within one year, it is a current liability. If they mature after more than one year, it is a non current liability.
They can be short term (current liabilities) when they mature within twelve months. If the maturity is after the next twelve months, then they are non current liabilities.
