Are capital expenditures on the balance sheet?

Where would I be able to find the capital expenditure for a company? I mean do you know if I should be able to get one of the financial statement and find the capital expenditure?

By saying capital expenditure, we mean the money that a company spends to buy assets. When a company buys an asset, it will be recorded on the balance sheet.

An exception to the rule is when a company buys a short term asset that has been completely worn off during the year (and thus written down to nil carrying value) or disposed before the year end. In this case, this capital expenditure will not be on the balance sheet.
